Thanks to the contributions of our C-100 members, and the continued support of our members, the Labor Party is proud to announce the addition of Marie Dino as our second coordinator.
Marie and I will share the responsibility of one coordinator, so we will not incur any added costs while getting double the brains and organizing skills to further the Labor Party’s 2012 goals.
Marie has been involved in the student rights movement through her participation in the Gainesville chapter of Students for a Democratic Society (SDS). She also developed her organizing skills by joining Dream Defenders, a group started by young activists from all over Florida in response to the Trayvon Martin tragedy. Dream Defenders works to educate and organize their communities to champion equality and education, and to fight racial profiling and youth incarceration.
I have worked alongside Marie in SDS and in the Coalition to March on the Republican National Convention, and I’m really excited to have her as my organizing partner. She has shown great passion for social justice, civil rights, and labor issues, and she looks forward to learning more about our healthcare campaign and the Single Payer platform endorsed by the Labor Party. I’m excited for our members to meet and work with her, as I’m sure she’ll bring the added energy we need to continue fighting towards healthcare for all and for a stronger labor movement.
